Meeting

The first pilot training session for international experts in quality assessment was held on 6 October at the NVAO offices in The Hague. The training session was conducted by Nick Harris, independent consultant and quality assurance expert.

The participants engaged in a role play and were introduced to several topics concerning specific aspects of the work of experts. They were also asked to present their national QA systems, in order to demonstrate the different contexts in which institutional reviews take place within the EHEA.

The second event was the QA staff training workshop which took place in ÖAR facilities in Vienna on 3 November 2011. The main objectives of the session were to learn from each other’s training practices,  to make recommendations for national trainings of QA experts, and to identify  a “skills profile” of trainers.

The participants were asked to give a presentation concerning their national experts training programmes, focusing on specific elements, such as learning outcomes, didactic approach and methods.

Both events were evaluated by their participants. The feedback is being thoroughly analyzed and will result in improvement of the second E-TRAIN training sessions which are scheduled for April and May 2012.
